My name is Tom McMahon, president of TJ's Camera & 1 Hour Photo. If you would like to know a little more about TJ's and the people who are the company, please read on.

TJ's Camera & 1 Hour Photo Inc. was founded in August of 1994 by myself, Tom, and my wife Jennie McMahon hence the name TJ's. We currently have two locations in Albuquerque New Mexico. Jennie and I are active full time in the stores and are usually available to take your calls or answer questions. Jennie specializes in the running of our stores and the accounting functions required. I have over 35 years experience in the photo industry with several large retailers and also with Nikon. I spend most of my time helping customers get better photos. I am very familiar with most 35mm and digital camera equipment sold now and over the last 30 years or so.
TJ's owns two Noritsu 2901 digital mini labs. We offer prints from film or digital files in sizes from 4"x6" up to any size by 30”. We can even make prints large enough to cover an entire wall. We offer all sizes in either luster (matte) or glossy (shiny) finish. We do all of our printing on KODAK ROYAL PAPER and we process in KODAK chemistry. These are much brighter, longer lasting than prints made on an ink-jet or laser printers. TJ’s real photo prints are chemically processed, fixed and stabilized. Every print is digitally analyzed; individually color and density corrected then hand inspected before it leaves our store.  TJ’s prints will last upwards of 200 years.

There are a lot of corners that a lab can cut to make their prints cheaper but at TJ's we refuse to do any corner cutting. We maintain clean chemistry that is monitored on a regular basis to guarantee that it is at the proper strength. We have a rigorous maintenance schedule to insure that our equipment is operating at top efficiency. We color balance every machine daily; to maintain proper color performance and we use the finest color paper on the market. We could certainly purchase other papers, at much lower prices creating significantly more profit for TJ's but over time I have found that the KODAK ROYAL paper is the best photo paper and as corny as it may sound, "YOUR PICTURES DESERVE THE BEST".

TJ’s now offers a brand new service. We refill computer printer cartridges. When you choose to recycle by refilling your printer cartridges at TJ’s you not only save as much as 50% of the price of new cartridges, you are also protecting the environment by not throwing your empty cartridges into our landfills.

Our refilling system uses the brand new ACCUFILL cartridge-refilling machine. This unique system uses a centrifuge and ultrasonic cleaner to clean cartridges. After they are clean the Accufill is the only system on the market that actually fills the cartridge in a vacuum to insure correct ink flow to the print head.

We are not a traditional "mail order" company. We are a family run business dealing with our customers face to face. Our names ore on the store so we take great care to make sure you feel good about doing business with us. We feel it's in our best interest to create happy customers because then you will come back.
